Review: Warthog Resistance

Our Fall 2012 collection will be dropping soon, so we figured it’s as good a time as any to start throwing stuff up for you guys to check out. This time around it’s the Halo Warthog Resistance, an item that’s been getting a lot of hype and is sure to be a new flagship piece in every Halo fan’s collection. So let’s dig into it.

The NEW Warthog

Perhaps the most iconic vehicle in all of Halo (that isn’t the size of a small city), this is our latest revision of the Warthog. We’ve never been content to leave designs in the past, and this time around the Warthog has been updated with a more subdued color palette and an even more extreme attention to detail.

The typical Warthog mainstays are all here (independent suspension for each wheel, of course!), but everything has been made better. For example, a much sleeker, sturdier footstep and the bars around the hood.

The Turret has been given a whole new level of realism with a bullet chain and an improved handle.

The rear contains a functional tailgate with attached nitrogen fuel canisters.

Also included: a matching weapons container!

The best Warthog we’ve ever made. But that’s not the end of this set. It’s actually just the beginning.

Forerunner Structure

So the story of this set is that a UNSC Recon team has discovered this ancient Forerunner Structure — and so has an Elite Zealot. We’ll get to those guys later, but let’s take a look at this thing.

What is it? A canon? A beacon? Who knows … whatever it is, it’s definitely important to understand it before the enemy does.

The flaps around the perimeter open up, likely to facilitate in doing something horrible.

New Spartans!

These new Spartans have been upgraded with the latest in MJOLNIR technology! This set comes with a Spartan Laser and the NEW Sticky Detonator, which shoots sticky explosives and then detonates them remotely!

There’s also a black Assault Rifle included.



The new armor design (left) is a bit bulkier than the older design (right), but has more details and produces an overall more powerful silhouette.

New Elite Zealot

So the new Zealot is … monstrous. I’m not sure what other word to use. It’s huge, it’s vicious. With Carbine in hand, it’s our Spartans’ worst nightmare.

We’ve packed an insane amount of detail onto such a small figure. The manually-sculpted design has a very organic texture. A combination of matte paint and the metallic red plastic accentuates the armor. There are even impossibly-small painted details on the forehead.


The new Zealot is very, very different from the old design. It’s bigger both in terms of bulk and height. It has a much more animalistic appearance. And as I had mentioned, the addition of matte paint really adds a whole new level of depth.

So that’s the Warthog Resistance. We’re not done with this set entirely, and you’ll see exactly what we mean pretty soon. But even without anything else, this is an amazing set. The latest and greatest Warthog. The return of Forerunner architecture. New Spartans and a new Elite Zealot. A new weapon — the Sticky Detonator. And this is just the tip of the iceberg for our Fall 2012 collection.

    Just got it on Christmas and I have to say the worthog is defenetly better than my old artic worthog and I just love the bars added and one of the Spartans looks like master cheif and it is just freaking awesome and good work mega bloks and I hope to see an improvement in the unsc rino and the scorpian.     This set is very awesome. It has much more detail on the previous details on the new set. It has a new warthog from halo 4 and it also includes one of the mysterious architecture of the forunners. 9.7/10

    Hey guys! I have seen the new UNSC MANTIS, I saw the (halo 4 mantis trailer). They should make a set name that. The mantis is so cool, Its like a killer mech. Even like a AT-ST walker in star wars. But cool!

    First off, I’d like to say I’m glad you didn’t make changes to the Weapons to better resemble the Halo 4 models. Secondly, the ammount of detail in this set is commendable, as is the addition of the Armoury Pod. I just hope it’s easier to assemble than the first Warthog, the old one kept falling apart on me because the moulds weren’t done perfectly. I’d prefer if you added more Marines in your sets though, as I have more than enough Spartans right now.

    I like the whole set it’s on my top 5 with orbital banshee and countdown I hate that the Spartans have no peg holes on the back also it’s not a zealot It’s a storm elite zealot

    I really like the warthog, that is one of my favorite UNSC vehicle because three spartans can ride in it and it is smaller than a lot of other vehicles, and also I want a new warthog with a chaingun because I lost the barrel to my old one

    Just purchased this last night and there is one piece that was duplicated therefore the piece to mirror the front of the Warthog is missing! My grandson is wanting to just throw it out and get another one. I on the other hand is trying to teach my grandson the value of the dollar and teaching him to see about getting the replacement. In the instructions, the piece he is working on is #18, the two pieces on the end 1X with the bars are identical not opposite sides! How may i get these pieces replaced???

    This is awesome. I have it. The spartans are bulkier than the old ones. I accidentally thought the Sticky Denator was an SMG. The Forerunner structure might be a shield genarator.

    im definately getting it although i wish they would let you have some armor permutations like the wrist peices in reach they should make those like the world of warcraft line armor . and add some animals from the game

    I personally think that the step that the people are taking at the Megabloks Halo studio is a step in the richt direction. They are addind new great features and overall detail. The mini-fig designs fit Halo 4 PERFECTLY. The zealot looks more like a regular Halo 4 Elite though. Ther really should make the so called “Zelot” NEEDS some improvemant guys, it just doesn’t look like a zelot. Anyway, all ranting aside, the entire set (including the figs, especially the spartans) is AWESOMESAUCE!!!!!!!!!11!!!!1 Good job Megabloks……….good job. :)

    I do not know what that detonator gun is called. I do have this set but I don’t know what that gun is called. Everyone knows what the assault rifle. The Spartans are very cool looking. The zealot is awesome too but the spartans are better in my opinion

    this set rocks and all but you get the set for everything including the warthog and everytime i get a set with a warthog the instructions mess me up(or they arn,t right) and my warthogs look like a factory deform and accidently shiiped it to stores.so megabloks work on the worthogs

    I love this Warthog Resistance Set but I just wish the Spartan IV’s weren’t Master Chief look alikes Spartan IV Warriors would have been better in my book.

    I only have one negitave vote,
    The new spartians are mark3 armour, and only Master cheif has mark3, but it’s still cool that you get two.
    Sorry that i’m a HALO geek.

    the new zelote looks nothing like the 1 in halo reach but its still awesome im guessing this warthog is halo 4,i also like the name warthog resistance i like tht name but y warthog resistance they could come up with a better name just sayin like warthog attake or something like that

    on targets website i think they still have a prototype picture up that is called warthog vs. knight on the box but it is listed warthog resistance so is it the real warthog resistance???

    they are missing the halo three mark 6 (witch i find personally the best one)they could put like a set form Valhalla with it or one with the oricel and the setinel or put it it on series 6 fig pack wit arbieter an maby Johnsen or sale some thing like a story back were u get charters from the story but it does requirer detailed molds but i think it would be a good saler. mega bloks, 343 ind ,Microsoft we would love this. signing off lol

    Not to dis on mega bloks but the elite looks like spec ops elite a little but it looks amazing…and the spartans, im speachless and mega bloks i have a new weapon for you. The concussion rifle. And a new set, the mass driver vs any kind of covenant aircraft.

    @Spartan679 – No Mark 7 still doesnt exist it was planned but never used since Master Chief is the only known spartan alive at the moment “KNOWN” however they either made new spartans we still dont know about or they decided to stop the project since the Convenant war ended along with the Flood after Halo 3.

    Already have it. The cost was about 32$? Anyways, it’s a cool set, but the SPARTANs don’t fit in the seat with the seat pieces inside :( . They also have a new battlescape, a new wraith set, an orbital banshee set, and more combat and weapons packs coming out! Can’t wait for HALO 4!!

But the people posting the comments of how every detail is messed up according to the game well, here wat every normal person thinks “Ya what ever. This set rocks”.     im writing back to Nick-o-nator 1000. i think halo2 because when you go onto a gun ona wortog master chief spartan armor looks buff and so do the new spartans.the spartans in halo4 look related to cqb s.

    i finished halo 3 odst sunday.also got odst ambush.the set was so kool. the odst was lighter than the ones in pods. i made romeo the game useing a sniper odst. if anyone lives in IL wonderlake and around the age of 9 to 11 write back plaease

    I know more about halo then all of you Did you know there was civil war in the covenet when the prophet of truth made brutes in charge all out war between Elites and Brutes and sgt. Avery Jhonson is the only human to survive the flood beside master chief.

    There’s a few problems with this set

    1.The turret is from Halo Reach

    2.The Forrunner structure is a mini ‘The Ark’ from Halo 3

    3.That’s not a Zealot Elite.I think it’s a Minor Elite

    So there’s lots of things wrong with this set but it’s still
    flipping awesome!

    I don’t like the new spartan that much, but the weapons drop is good and so is the elite. Hopefully, a remake of the Scorpion will be made soon!

    Oh, and hopefully this’ll come out in England soon.

    I LOVE the new Warthog and Spartans. I like how there’s a tailgate on the ‘Hog.

    But if you’ve seen the Trailer, Gameplay Demo, and this, for Halo 4, and you know a lot about Halo, then I believe I speak for all when I say that the Elites allied with the humans near the end of the Human-Covenant war. So the Elites should not be fighting the humans.

    this is awesome. but if you see the halo 4 website it says the elite is a renegade elite pirate and the building is from halo wars and is called a sentinel factory. besides all else this set is very awesome :)

    This is a great looking set. I saw the prototype at New York Toy Fair this year and it looked great then. Now seeing it in finished shots it looks fantastic. I love that MEGA has included Forerunner parts as those are littered through the Halo saga. The Spartans are AWESOME. Finally Master Chief in a truer sense. That Elite is amazing, I can’t wait to get several of them.

    The updated details of the Warthog, as originally designed by 343i for Halo 4, just look spectacular. This is a beefier looking warthog in all aspects. Hand rails, new turret, foot steps and those fuel canisters! Woot.

    Not to mention the weapons pod too.

    This is a MUST BUY for all Halo MEGA Bloks enthusiasts.

    This thing is AMAZING! New Halo 4 Spartan IV’s, instead of the Halo Wars Spartan II’s or Reach Spartan III’s, newly designed warthog, cool little Forerunner beacon or cannon or satellite or whatever it is, and a sick looking elite. With something this awesome, I’m really shocked I’m the first to find and comment on this (or atleast that’s what this page says)

    I…All I can say is um *swallow* IT’S BEAUTIFUL IN EVERY WAY! (talking to self)[alright get a grip] the zealot is just absolutly georgious in its self the spartan has in my opinion a much sleeker design in all ways,shapes, and forms. It kicks the heck out of the zealot from halo reach. But I can tell you put alot of effort into everything and I hope to see more.
