Review: UNSC and Covenant Weapons Packs (Fall 2011 Version)

The Fall 2011 collection is starting to hit stores now! Have you gotten any yet? Things have been crazy this week as we prepare for the Halo Toymation Video Contest, but I managed to find the time to pick these two sets up. Keep reading for the inside scoop!

So obviously the weapons are the stars here. We’ve got four in each pack. For the UNSC pack, there’s an M6, Assault Rifle, Shotgun and a Trip Mine. In the Covenant pack you’ll find a Plasma Pistol, Carbine, Beam Rifle, and an Energy Shield. Nice!

Each set also comes with a display stand for the weapons.

The Silver CQB Spartan. The distressing is really heavy on this guy; it appears he’s been through some tough times!

Of course, you’d look a little beat-up as well if your rival was this sick Crimson Battle Elite. The new sculpt is here in full force, and the contrast of the red makes it look even more amazing.

    The red elite looks like an Elite Minor.
    By the way, I made a Gravity Hammer out of Legos!
    To build the Halo: Reach version you need-
    1 black single bladed long axe
    2 1×1 black top clips
    2 1×1 circular transparent neon orange plates
    1 black 1×2 plate

    Clip the black top clips to the opposite side of the axe blade. Attach the neon orange plates to the clips. Finally, reinforce the hammer with the black 1×2.

    I got them both a couple of months ago on Christmas and these were great but if you could only get one I would recommend that you get the covenant weapons pack.

    I havent seen any 2011 toys at New Zealand yet . Will the 2011 toy’s be available in NZ?

    Oh btw megabloks I think you guys should make more set s based on Halo 3: ODST because there are barely any! Still you guys are making awesome sets

    I got the Covenant Strike and it is AWESOME! It comes with a green transport hog’, beige (sand color) Spartan with pistol, and two marines- assault rifle and rocket lancher. Also comes with two purple Grunts( purple nades and a plasma pistol.) Also two purple old model elites with carbine and sword, and two brutes, spiker and brute shot.

    its cool how mega blocks add the trip mine . i want both of the sets . corbra are cool hope they make them and a battle ground like in side a cavant cuiser

    I’m so getting that CQB Spartan. It is epic! I’ve been searching all over for a shotgun or whatever the biggest gun in there is. (I’m not talking about the assult rifle)

    i got a new infection map on halo 3 on avalanche, cold storage, sand trap, and valhalla. And i need 2 levels on odst on legendary. And who has halo wars cuz im trying to fight the flood on heroic? and my cousin keeps doing halo McDonalds on halo 3 in forge and my brother cheats on forge. if u try to kill him he starts spectating

    at first my friends got to like halo but then i was slowly
    starting to like it my friend gave me a green spartan,
    i went to tesco i found a halo pack and boughte it , it
    was a red spartanit was very cool.

    Oh yeah what ever happened to the covie drop pods anyway? see them in the battle scenes in the instruction booklets, but never heard sightings of them not even on bloksforum, man i gotta join that site for sure. hopefully if tru has a reset of new stuff, these will come out. it can’t be an exclusive like the 10th anniversary warthog,
    floodgate and troop pack right?

    hey, is it me or majority of the silver cqbs i see in reviews or pics have the visor not completely painted? for it’s always a gold triangle instead of a complete visor. well i hope all of them aren’t like that. I’ll have to look at the paint job or custom paint them myself when i find these hotrods.

    i love halo and the product is beast i cant wait to get it also i cant wait till the new red and blue multiplayer packs come out unless there already out i love the cqb it is awesome go unsc covinent is weak they cant handle us

    amazing CQB is realy nice and the sandbags are also cool and the trip mine and the shield are sweet thats the first time theve done stuff like that plus the elite look way better than old 1

    love the landmine and the shield 2days ago i got the 1spartancase for only 10 dollars id side with the covenant because i have most of the things in the unsc pack and the red elite is wicked

    in 2012 the next set they should start making alot of the armor like some from halo 3 for spartans and some for elites then make a little halo reach armor really glad they got a new elite in aa turret and they added a new spartan they got hazop,recon, and eva

    i got all those guys here at a target in Arizona. they also had the Elaphant, ODST outpost, the red pilot elite figure pack and the series 3 figure packs. and EVA’s last stand. which is so awsome becuase EVA’s are the best. i really want it!!!!!!

    well i heard that when you enter the contest zone there are silly little videos about HALO and one of them gives you INFORMATION ON THE CONTEST THAT HAPPENS ON AUGUST 5 plus you can have a try of becoming a toymation director and become an international web star like FRED see you at the contest

    i really think that mega bloks should create some buildings and a road battlescape for bigger things like elephants and scorpions, plus they really should make big packs where you can buy like 3 mongeese in a pack or something…

    laurence did u know that Halo 4 will be comming out next year and there is going to be a Halo 1 anniversary edition that has the graphics of Halo Reach! Cant wait to the new halo mega bloks sets.

    Brad I it would be awesome if you at mega bloks made covenant plasma rifle the most iconic covenant weapon. A great idea for a new covenant battle pack would be a brute cheiftan with a new GRAVITY HAMMER.

    I got the silver CQB at Smith’s market place in Utah but I couldn’t find the combat Elite. I’m shock at how good the trip mine paint is. I’m going to get EVA’s laststand. But my brother said EVA is a girl in halo reach.

    how do i buy the new sets, like phantom. i looked at target, Walmart, toysrus, and kmart. none of them had it, but the target website said they had it in stock at the nearest store. A whole shelf is missing by the halo stuff, but its not there. all help is appreciated

    i have these prefer the covenant 1 more tho also have the battlescape now and 5 series 3 mystery packs got orange spartan yellow flight elite got 2 of em yellow marine and white pilot also found 1 series 2 and got the active camo flame dude and the artic drop pod found at toys r us in the uk

    i just looked at new argos catalouge and they have got lots of new sets.they have new covenant drop pod and the new odst ones,the elephant,the phantom;aa gun and missle hog and the eva’s last stand also the new combat units.EPICNESS ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I have them already there sick the detail is epic on the elite
    but the cqb has a better weapon holder, plus the trip mine has good detail. and how i got them i wont tell u guys but it cost 28 dollars to get them.

    i only have covanent aa turret w hog , phantom and falcon but i dont have them yet they r shipping maybe wednsday they get here ;D i got them off toys r us .com but i was to late to get evas last stand :( AND eva last stand is my favorite i men ho wod nt luv 2 hunter and a warthog best 20 $ set ever o and im totally unsc side is that a lotus anti tank mine f so my covanent forces will have no more wraith to fight with !D

    Are the sets in stores now? ‘Cause if they are I can’t wait to get one! Honestly I like both of them. The sand bags and trip mine are sick! And the deployable cover looks awesome. But what I really like about the covenant set is the Elite. The graphics on the Elite are too cool to be true! So if I were to chose one of the two, I would chose covenant.

    Is it only me who has noticed that the UNSC Weapon Packs always has a seeminly more creative display stand than the Covenant? Megabloks is taking steps to improve that, just look at the energy shield! Cant wait to army build them!

    1. amazing sheilds 2. cool land mine 3. awsome cqb sparten 4. the best elite i have seen so far

    Wow!!! These new Weapons packs are great! The figures look awesome. I especially love the new trip-mine and energy shield. I absolutely just love them! Though, I really wish I was atleast able to find these while looking for the new Phantom set… Oh well, atleast I was able to get the ODST Hawk and the Arbiter (buildable figure).
    P.S. You said the UNSC weapons pack came with a battle rifle, and not a shotgun.

    I got EVA’s last stand today the new warthog is 8 times better. The turret can swivel around fully so the gunner can shoot behind him. A huge improvement it also has seats now.

    I think megabloks should have had it include two trip mines in the UNSC pack and another weapon in each pack other than that they are awesome. One of the first few comments!

    You made a mistake. It’s not a battle rifle, but a shotgun that’s included. Just thought I’d clear that up. Great sets though. Il see about picking these up soon.

    yet another great review brad!! really excited with more silver figures beside my 2 ground force ODSTs. hey, how about a review of the up coming covie drop pods? haven’t seen much on it but it will be killer awesome. I was able to get the odst ambush just for 8.99!!! plus i’m getting the elephant,phantom,falcon and aa gun vs warthog for my Bday!!!
