Review: Hero Pack Series 3

I was finally able to finish tearing open my Series 3 packs, and thankfully I managed to get the whole series. Read on for an in-depth photo review of the latest Halo micro action figs!

Blue Covenant Brute w/ Spiker (Common)

Wow! I find the Brute’s face looks so life-like in this release. The matte blue is great!

Yellow UNSC Marine — Assault Rifle (Common)

Arctic UNSC Pilot w/ Pistol (Common)

I really love the design of the Pilot armor, and it looks great in this snowy white contrasted with khaki grey.

Orange UNSC Spartan w/ Spiker (Common)

This isn’t the first time we’ve released an orange Spartan — there’s one in the Brute Prowler set as well — but the distressing on this one is a bit different.

Copper Covenant Grunts w/ Plasma Pistol and Plasma Grenade

Wow, it’s two figs! Since Grunts are really no good on their own, you’ll find two in your pack if you get them! Just make sure they don’t blow up.

Yellow Covenant Elite Pilot w/ Energy Sword (Rare)

Have you ever seen a color wheel? Yellow and blue are complimentary colors, which is why they look so good together! This Elite certainly isn’t sneaking up on anyone like that, though.

Cyan UNSC CQB Spartan w/ Pistol (Rare)

Hot on the heels of the infamous Cyan Spartan is the Cyan CQB Spartan! It’ll be a bit easier for you guys to get this one, and honestly it looks just as good — if not better!

Active-Camo Covenant Elite w/ Energy Sword (ULTRA RARE)

Oh, here it finally is … the Ultra Rare of Series 3 — the Active-Camo Elite! You only have a 1/24 of getting it, but don’t give up! This is seriously the best looking Active-Camo yet, in my humble opinion.

So, that’s it! Here’s my results of opening 24 packs:

  • 3x Cyan CQB Spartan (R)
  • 4x Blue Brute (C)

Wow! I got really lucky with 3x Cyan CQB! I didn’t want so many Orange Spartans though … oh well! I’m sure I can find someone to trade with for some other figs that I want. Make sure you guys do the same, and let me know what figs you got in your packs in the comments.

    i think the ac elite is the best yet 2. i only have 2 though. i would have more but my walmart had 1 box and never sold again.
    but now i have series 5 and i think its the best yet guys good job!!!

    I have the arctic pilot. I wondered where it came from, cuz I got from a friend. I don’t really like the tan spots on the inside of the legs and arms. It’s more of a desert color than arctic.

    I really like elites but the only reason im dissapointed when I get them is because basiclly every elite has the same weapon, the energy sword. I have 4 elites and 3 of them have energy swords.

    Oh and why is the elite flight’s sword clear?

    I only brought 3 and I got the ultra rare, One rare and one common :) . Its funny because out of all the hero packs I’ve ever collected most of them are rare and not common. I really wanted the grunt’s because I still dont have any grunt’s

    I got one and I found an energy sword but got a set with a pistol in it instead well the pistol was a spiker… on christmas i got a yellow marine

    the active camo elite looks sooooo good. when i finaly found the packs i grabed 6 of them thinking i would never get the ac elite but the first pack i opened i got him !!! for series four they should make an active camo hunter or hyabussa spartan.

    I had the codes… but they’re old… :( I had for the 51 and 61 series (all part of Series 3) Now they’re all ending in 81… Lucky for me I was able to find an old pack hidden amongst the new.. the AC Elite! Cool beans.

    Here’s what I found out about the new ones:
    A22081MM: Yellow UNSC Marine
    A16081MM: Cyan UNSC CQB Spartan

    I tried to pick mine by going through the packs that were there and picking out the ones that had unique codes, I saw a ton of 17s, 15s and 19s, and a few 23s and 18s.

    These series 3 blind packs are much better than the series 2 blind packs! The series 2 pack had alot of feminine colors and the first series 2 pack I opened had… You guessed it, THE PINK HAYABUSA! Oh man! I laughed be booty off for 5 minuets! So funny!

    I found and picked up four packs of the series 3 today. I got one yellow Marine, one white pilot, and two blue brutes.

    Kinda lame the yellow Marine doesn’t come with a backpack like all the other Marines have in the past.

    Jackhigginz- Personally I would get the Rockethog (Arctic warthog). I don’t really collect arctic sets but in one of the HMB toyfair vids on youtube this lady said that if you have a spare warthog you can connect it with the upcomming set “EVA’s Last Stand” to make a Deasert camo warthog. The thing with both Wolverines is that they come with one purple hunter each, I think the idea is to get both…but the choise is all yours really.

    Those will be good on my battlescape! Ive already got 3 different color warthogs, Gremlin, Pelican, Battlescape, Wraith, B2 Turrets, Mongoose, Aerial Ambush, Scorpian, 3 Drop pod’s, All of SEries 3, 2 UNSC Combat Units, 2 Cov Units and heaps of custom vehicles I need those Orange Spartans, CQB, AC Elite, Yellow Marine and Pilots!!!

    the standerd squad ratio for the covenant is 3-4 to 1 for grunts\jackal infantry\skirmisr to elite\brute.
    a squad may be 4 grunts (3 minor[yellow]and one major[red]) to one elite minor. If there are 2 squads close by there may be an elite major nearby(red in all games exept reach, where it is a golden orange\copper color. Some times you will find a group of grunts led by a grunt ultra (white)

    you could just feel-up the paks to help predict wats in ther but you will have a hard time distiquishing the yellow elite flight and the camo elite…

    I got them just last week along with a battlescape and a rocket warthog. (the battle scape is actually quite small… if you measure it in warthogs and build it in forge it takes 3 seconds to walk across it and is at plasma repeater range from one end to the other.)
    I also got the new arctic combat unit and the haryuba spartan looks cool withe sniper

    Isn’t there a numeric code for each package? I’m currently interested (<– extremely) in the grunts, already having the cyan spartan, active camo elite, and arctic pilot. Two grunts is most definitely enough for my collection, and I need quite a few for my toymation.

    2 things.
    1, i (for some reason) really want the yellow elite and marine.
    and 2, this is the only minifigure pack that dosen’t have a hayabusa in it.
    series 1 had a blue 1 and series 2 had a pink 1 which i got!

    I’m back, and I’ve cracked the code! Okay, so on the block of each minifigure is a code that corresponds to the same code on the bag. It’s hard to see, but tilt it in the light and you’ll get it. For example, in series 2, the Red Spartan’s code is A01110MM. This code is on the back right side of the bag. Now to anyone who gets series 3 figs, please post the code of the minifig’s brick so we can get what we want. Although this will probably be removed, at least someone at MEGA knows that…I’m just a big curious clever nerd.

    hey everyone just went to to target the other day and u wont belive what im saying but i saw the new series 3 pack butt … :( not a single 1 there im surprised no 1 took the card bord box because these things are hot. i asked the lady when r more coming and she said idk but we just put those out not to long ago.     i went to my local walmart yesterday and got the new white odst with white sniper and black and red battle rifle it’s awesome but i didn’ see any of those series 3 packs………….. now i want the ac eilte 2 cyan cqbs and mabey an orange spartan also i want the other new odst with the spartan lasers but they were out….. :(

    its easy 2 find the rare items. at meijer 2day right off the back i found the purple unsc spartan and the pink hayabussa im very great at finding out wat it is in the package even workers at the stores says wow!!!!

    any way what figs do u have.ive got 5 green spartans, 6 red spartans, 3 pink hyubusa, 3 blue elites,1 red flight elite, one copper custom paint flight elite,3 green marines, 3 red marines, 3 purple & 1 red brute, 2 active camo hell bringers, 2 red and blue hell bringers, and 2 purple spartans. thats about 34 halo characters. and ive don’t even have half of a covenant army yet.all i need is hunters, jackles, and grunts.

    first get some playdough.then sunflower yellow paint. and of course a mini fig. first get a ball of playdough an encase most of the lower arm of the fig. make sure to leave a space () playdough and elbow joint. then paint the arm.quickly take a tiny piece of playdough and make fingers. paint them as well. after that attach them to the hand paint 4 times over the area connecting the hand and fingers then for the head take a tiny ball of playdough and turn it into a hill shape.then remove the characters head and pain ti neck joint and the hill shaped ball.then take the haed and smush it in the side or the playdough part of the head.then make 3 nubs and place on right side of fig when facing u.genly paint them and let it dry.then u got a flood character.u can ad details if u want.i really want to see how some peps turns out

    they really need to make prophets and flood.i made custom flood megabloks figs, but i cant get the prophets

    I Need Grunts and lots of them. And hopefully they will make more of the new elite head mold. The pictures were unclear. Hopefully some Zealots are in the future as well.     Very cool. I plan on getting 4 packs of grunts, 2 Cyan CQBS, 2 AC Elites, 2 Yellow Elite Flights, 2 Yellow Marines, 1 Arctic Pilot and I’m won’t be very happy if I get an Orange Spartan or a Blue Brute as I already have those figures from the prowler and desire no more of either. If I feel a Spiker in the bag I’ll be skipping over :D
