Another day closes at the Javits Center in New York City. Another long NYCC day behind us. That’s not to say we got nothing accomplished. Because today was declared ‘Halo Day’ at Booth 1906. And Halo Day is always worth talking about.
The Halo corner of Booth 1906 was a pretty busy one. At the top of the primary escalator to enter the Main Hall, to say that there was a lot of foot traffic would be an understatement. Fortunately – we were ready for them.
What we weren’t as ready for was the quality of the Halo cosplayers. San Diego gave us a glimpse into the extremely detailed world of Spartan armour cosplay. New York kept up quite nicely.
Kicking off the four-day event was the original Halo 4 Spartan himself, Frank O’Connor – Halo Franchise Development Director at 343 Industries. For the first hour of Preview Night, Frank showed off the Mammoth and signed exclusive posters for the first and the fastest fans to find the booth. Not a bad start to the show…
The other key figure from the Halo 4 Universe who made an appearance in the booth was the 420,000-piece Promethean Knight Big Build.
Fans who took a pic between his outstretched arms got themselves one of our exclusive 2013 event Spartans. We’re actually giving out 10,000 of these figures this weekend. It made us even more popular…
Speaking of popular giveaways, a password was given out on the Mega Bloks Twitter and anyone who came to the booth and spoke the password to the employee rocking this Cortana chip got themselves one of only 150 exclusive NYCC 2013 Mega Bloks Halo t-shirts.
One of the most common questions we got today from super-fans who stopped by, and one of the most common questions we get daily on our Facebook page is about the toymation – which we had playing up on big screens in the booth. All we can say is stay tuned. There are really big things to come very, very soon.
Another awesome day at another awesome con. What can we say? We had a lot of fun and hope everyone else did too.
