New York Comic-Con -Thursday Recap

Today was the first day of New York Comic-Con, although it was really more of a preview day. Nonetheless, we were open from 4-7 PM and our build area was live!

The concept of our build area is pretty simple; we have a bunch of sets available for free. You can take it, it’s yours, as long as you build it with us. The result is a bunch of Mega Bloks fans building their sets together. It’s really awesome!

Iron Man and Hello Kitty seemed to be the favourites of the day — very appropriate for a comic convention. All types of people came by to build, from little kids, librarians, fashionistas, comic lovers, and people who were sick of waiting to get into the exhibition floor (ah, the benefits of being in the lobby!).

At around 8 PM we headed over to St. Mark’s Comics for a meet-up event, and it was a blast. I think we ordered like 12 pizzas, we didn’t even come close to finishing at all. However, a lot of people came by to talk Mega Bloks and comics with us, and everyone left with a great present! Thanks so much to St. Mark’s Comics for allowing us to host our meet-up there.
