Halo Toymation Fest 2012: Judges Announced + Tyler’s Tips Series!

Hey guys! I assume you’ve all heard about the 2012 Mega Bloks Halo Toymation Fest already, right? If not, check out the original blog post for more information.

This year, we’re upping the ante with a totally all-star panel of judges. Andrew Sparkes (Vice President of Kids and Collectors, Mega Bloks) and Jessica “bs angel” Shea (Community Manager, 343 Industries) reprise their roles, and they’ll be joined by

You’ll be seeing a lot more of these judges during the contest, so stay tuned!

Tyler is not only a judge this year — he’s also your teacher! Tyler has created a series called Tyler’s Tips in which he shares some of his winning secrets and skills of toymation-making, with detailed videos about things like planning your toymation film, lighting and simulating smooth movement. Follow the advice from these videos and you’ll be sure to have an edge on the competition.

We’ll begin accepting submissions on September 1st, 2012, and open the videos to public viewing and voting on September 18th. We’ll continue to accept submissions until October 25th, but the earlier you submit your video, the more time you’ll have to collect votes. The most popular videos will have to duke it out in the Face-Off Phase to determine the leader of each category. From there, the top five videos will move on to our panel of judges. There can be only one Toymation Fest Champion!

Check out halo.megabloks.com/toymation for contest rules, information and Toymation Tips. Can’t wait to see your video!
