Ghosts of Halo

Hey guys! Halloween is coming soon! What are you guys going as?

Have you heard about the Ghosts of Halo? I found this on Halopedia:

“Such players tend to behave bizarrely and possess odd features. Among other things, they lack gamertags, do not show up on the scoreboard, and move erratically. They can be hostile if provoked, though some have been known to attack actual players for no reason. On some occasions, they are also invulnerable.”

    CREEEEEEPY. I don’t exactly have access to an xbox that much, so I don’t have halo, unfortunately, but they do sound wierd. Wouldn’t wanna run into one of those babies.

    everybody knows about the creepy cortana easter egg on Halo 3 right? Well, me and my cousin figured something out.Go to high ground(where the easter egg is),if you notice the easter egg is programmed on a computer screen.After you’ve seen it,go to the little beach south of high ground,if you notice there is a tower in the distance.If you think about it,it seems like cortana hacked into the tower and programmed herself through the power system.That’s when we got the idea of Cortana being the Ghost of High Ground.

    I SAW FLYING FEET! Halo 2. the floor ontop of me covered up the rest. I was on multplayer with my brother. BUT YOU CANT FLY ON HALO2. Unless your the gost. I think my brother killed it, well he did.

    I was one Reach once and I went to the pickup pad on Boneyard and then a random elite popped out and killed me so I checked the scoreboard it said:

    It was really FREAKY! I killed it with a Scorpion and I went over to its body and heres the wierd bit- It started FLOATING! AAAAAAAGGGHHH!

    A GHOST FREAKY anyway I fought one too well heres how it starts me and my mate walked up to a pipe on halo 3 mythic and a monitor popped out then me and my friend shot 2 rocket launchers and threw to grenades BUT when the monitor blew up KABOOM and then we died.

    i fought one once. i was doing team slayer on halo 3. at first we were winning. But every person but the ghost quit. we all stuck togethor with powerful weapons. We actually won the match the score was 50 to 47. It was a close game.

    if you look on sandbox on halo 3 the silver thing in the sky is not a ghost it is a teleporter it takes u up to a higher place with a grid for a floor if u turn back to a spartan u fall through the grid thing (u have to be a moniter to go through the teleporter ) but u can put anything but weapons and it will stay on the gird.

    I have killed many gold flight eliets but never saw a ghost.(except the vehicle.) I wonder if bungie has? p.s. I think bungie created those monster things

    ghost is the word! the hauntings on halo3 are only in some levels, here are some of those levels= last resort, forge, blackout, sand trap, valhala, and cold storage.any way i’m going as a zombie or an asassin.p.s. ghost of lockout is ghost of blackout ( same ghost just different level!!!)

    I heard that the Halo Ghost’s are hackers.

    I heard from my friend that he was playing and he came across one. At first all that happened was a Falcon flew across the screen. Then a scary face popped up onto the screen. I heard this from my friend. I think it is true. I am not entirely sure though

    I have ran into one before it had black armor with silver shoulder pads with a commando helmet he was carrying a sniper rifle. Heres what happened me and a friend were playing halo reach one on one ctf privat match and he showed up killed my friend and came close to killing me if sighted do not provoke an if you’ve seen the one ive senn please post to prove m not crazy

    Me and my friend went ghost hunting in blackout in halo 3 after seeing a video on youtube. We didnt find anything but a few weeks later he sent me a voice messege on xbox live saying that he encountered one!!this was the messege. (“THE GHOSTS OF HALO 3 ARE REAL”). Then i joined his party and told me about it. Man i wanna fight a ghost. Even if i lost it would be a fun expirence. :)

    the ghost of halo is real!! when i was on a ghost i could fly and the weird part was my hands were up in the air so it looked like i was on a sweet rollercoaster and i was invinsable, i’ll send a pic. and one time i was stuck in eavd so when i walk i was in a ball LOL

    i was playing halo 3 forge with my sister and i was on the complete other side of the map and she got assinated by nothing, then another time i was with her a mongoose came and splattered both of us, and plasma grenades kept flying out of the air and killed us, but what i think was the most creepy thing was where i had to beat one last mission on legandary to beat it on legandary and after my 100th time dying it gave me to arbiters and that time i won :) so yea some funny stuff

    I was just playin halo reach and the same ‘ghost’ started assisting me on multiplayer campiagn and seemed to be able to kill any thing, he again looked exactly the same as me and, no tag.

    yeah, i was bored and i challenged 8 vs 1 ctf and i was on my own and an unamed player with no tag appeared and started killing everyone and they all tryed to take him out but it was like he was invincible. then a few days later he appeared in another game i joined and looked exactly like me!

    i met one.i was flying a hornet.no one could join.i saw a hayabusa.i shot him he shot a rocket at me.before it hit me i jumped out.then…he was far away.he had a katana.i saw him swap his weapon.i thought it was a spartan laser.but it turns out it was the…katana!he charged and slashed me i died.i couldnt spectate him.and then you know where it says “you killed him.” well it said “hi” and then it said the ghost of halo left the game.then my vision was blurred for the rest of the game.CREEPY!!

    so we tried to blow the wraith up.but the wraith turned invisible.so when we shot randomly the wraith fell on the falcon and it fell.[of course]then we were blown out of the sky.bummer!then we searched the whole forge map.we found the thing that killed us an abandoned rockethog. so i got my handy laptop and when i turned it on i went on bungie.com and tried to look for something about a halo reach ghost.i didn’t find anything:{:{:{:{.

    i have encountered a ghost before, i was with my friends.i was playing forge on halo reach.[awesome game :}]so when i saw it i checked the scoreboard and there was only 3 people me and my 2 friends and the ghost looked like noble 6.my friend noticed the ghost first.so when he told us,we thought he was bluffing.when me and my friend invetigated,the ghost was driving a wraith.we were in a falcon.

    Yeah it was a slayer match on a forged valhalla map and this one guy appeared with no gamertag and started killing us and he wouldn’t die and we started to scream at him saying get off the server hacker and then we all started to shoot him again and one guy shot him with the scorpions cannon and he just disappeared and I just thought it was weird and it was 16 player so there was no way someone could have joined and i just turned off my Xbox 360 and I got reach and it hasn’t happened again.

    i ran into two one in halo 3 on avalanche, i was the only one in and it was local and i was flying a hornet and then a spartan laser shot out of the ground and killed me then again in halo reach when i was playing online me and 2 friends i was in a ghost and they were in a warthog and we were racing and when i boosted past them then a random person with mk 6 helmet eva left shoulder the three bullets that jun has on the other shoulder the tactical ugps default knees no utility and black visor just appeared infront of me went in to armor
    lock and then after i died they just disappeared it was freaky

    ghosts are just a rare occurence when extreme lag or bad connection comes into play. its not hackers its just a cool glitche. there are only some maps in wich ghost occurences are normal such as valaha where one apeares around the downed pelican or random firebomb grenades come out of no where. another map that ghosts sometimes apear on is sandtrap where u normaly see a orange spartan with a spartan laser appear. they have no walking animation though and for some reason all of their plasma grenades hit their marks. u guys should look on youtube and search: halo 3 ghost of blackout

    yes ive ran into one and it just keeps running me over everytime i respawn then all of a sudden i see every one in monitor mode and some how they kept lazering me an d after that i saw there kills. IT WAS ONE MILLION!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ya know something like this happend in halo 3 when u are in the ship infected with flood on co-op campaighn this dude and his freind were playing on that level all of the sudden the master chief player died and somehow a flood infector crawled in his helmet and master chiefs visor turned red and said “YOUR DEAD” and the dude playing as the arbiter could just not kill the flood infested master chief and that is just it very crazy indeed………..

    I keep seeing them on campain they are gold elite rangers and I see them on Nighfall, Tip of the Spear, Noble Actual, Pillar of Autum, And I have killed them and I have heard theat seeing them is rare, but for some reason I see them all the time.I think my halo reach is haunted.

    my uncle Jesse has seen these things. i read on the halopedia that these things are glitches and they have all sorts of powers that no one else would have. what makes it creepier is that they have no gamer tags. :0

    ok so heres the story of the ghosts of halo to test the halo maps more effently they dicided to make ai or as some of you call them; computers when they were done with them though they couldent erase them and they were stuck on the map. infact most “goshts” are invisible and only appear once. and yes i have ecountered two gohsts one was friendly and just stared at me and the other appeared out of nowere with a pgang and tore me apart but when i reaspond there was just one. p.s my uncle works for bungie

    Hi it’s me again I have halo reach I got it for my birthday it is mega fun. Me and my dad played it last thursday and me and him kicked covenant butt on normal from the second level to the nineth level and we died alot. An elite ultra threw a plasma at me like a star pitcher one minute I saw nothing the next a blue ball of plasma hit and boom!

    that elite you saw was not a ghost. it was a BOB. they are just an easter egg type of thing. they appear randomly in the game. if you kill enough, u get an achievement. BOBs are named after these guys from another game called Marathon which bungie made and it heavily inspired halo. look Marathon (video game) up some time. its pretty neat.

    i havent, but i heard they are a glitch or NPCs left over from programming bungie accidentally left in. or hackers, quite possibly. i have heard that ocasionally they also make wierd high pitched noises. who knows? maybye ghosts like to play halo. :)

    Also a time when I was playing halo reach a ghost of halo popped out in the middle of the field. Then my whole team with 15 people on it started to shoot it and it didn’t die. Then it killed all of us with one plasma grande. And the team we were versing was green and we were blue. But………….. the ghost was white!!!!

    I have ran into a ghost before. me and my partner were shooting at it with rocket launchers and it did not die! Then out of no where it pulled out a rocket launcher and killed us. It didn’t even have a gamer tag. Then it disappeared. Weird huh.

    Anyway, freddywoo, you are partially correct, in that when the player is killed by a ghost, it will say “killed by the guardians”, because the ghost isn’t something that normally occurs in the game, so it doesn’t have a string code associated with it, and furthermore the system does not know why the player has been killed.
    But as I said, “killed by the guardians” isn’t exclusively limited to ghosts. For example, if the player glitches out of the map, but ends up on top of a surface that wasn’t programmed with collision data, the player will fall through the landscape to his death, and the kill will be credited to “the guardians”.

    once my friend was playing live and a covenent ghost came by trying to kill him so he shot the driver in the head with a sniper and the guy died but the ghost kept coming and ran him over without any driver.

    it was really FREAKY

    @mDdroiD- You are completely correct- bungie couldn’t do this, as many ghosts are spotted while editing in Forge, not in matchmaking, where it is impossible for someone to be hacking or modding the game without being in the same room as someone else, and furthermore without the other players being aware of such tamperment.
    @freddywoo- No need to be sorry, it was an honest mistake.

    There’s one in Reach as well, in Forge World. Its a red Spartan in Mk. V[B] armor, and it’s indestructible, and has no walking or jumping animations. I added this info over on Halo pedias new domain, halopedian.com.
    There are also a lot of people in Reach who mistake the armor permutation glitch for ghosts, so be sure to know tje difference; a hologram that looks different from its creator is not a ghost, it’s the product of the aforementioned glitch.

    Its not a ghost its a an A.I. glitch bungie had A.I. Spartans play and interact on maps to test them they had a lot of test on lockout in halo 2 thats why they appear so much. Some say bungie employees join games just to mess with people but I do not believe that

    When i was playing HALO 2 on the 3rd lvl i ran into like 3 or 4 ghost’s that got served by a ROCKET LONCHER! The explosion was insane. The ghost’s blow up realy wierd. The pieces on the ground all blown up they look like burnt up grublle or something with a seriously bad leak. I have one quistion. Why do ghost’s look easy but there not as easy as theye look?

    When i was online i saw this red sparten in a ghost trying to kill everyone it made the match very difficult! He would not quit bashing into people or quit shooting. It was madness. Everyone was going around shooting all over the place trying to kill him. Then this brown dude showed up and knocked him off the ghost and killed him. Then the ghost blew up. The ghost last’ed for ever.

    one of the resons it says ‘KILLED BY THE GURDIANS’ on halo reach is when you edit a map and choose a kill ball, you walk inside it, you die and when that happens, that’s when it says ‘KILLED BY THE GURDIANS).

    oh! and another time as with a freind we were making a halo 3 video put during game play there was copys of us but oposite colors[we were elites with combat and ascetic armors]but they would follow us but if we attacked we got stuck grenades and they were invinceable but didn’t show in the filmafterwards

    i encountered one on campaign, IT WAS A ELETE! halo reach tip of the spear, campaign spire. a nearby fuel rod shot gave my sheilds damege, i looked to my left and there it was. it was a wasp/yellow/goldish colored elete- airborne. it fired around 2 more fuel rod shots, i fired my gun (assult rifle, i think) but nothing happened. NOT EVEN THE SHEILDS REACTED TO MY SHOTS! how does that happen? in halo reach you shoot a somthing and sheilds react, right? then he ran. i shot rapidly, frantically trying to kill him, but then THE GOLDISH ELETE DISAPPAERED! only a few minutes later i was preceeding up towards the upper spire, I JUST BARELY SAW HIM, he fired 2 rods again THEN DISAPPAERED! I NEVER SAW IT AGAIN, EVER! iam probally gonna b stuck with last year’s costume, megatron from transformers. :( iam 12. but the costume is cool! :)

    I haven’t seen any ghosts, but from time to time I’ll hear a small child’s voice muttering incomprehensible sentences in the headset throughout an entire game. It’s creepy because Halo is an M-rated video game, but I swear it sounds like there’s a child playing it. Makes me shiver just thinking about it.

    I have not come in contact with one but me and some of my friends have gone ghost hunting before on Halo 3. We tried doing glitches and things because I heard thats when they come. The only creepy thing that happened is that a nearby tree we were watching in theater started waving violently while no one was around it. Creepy stuff bungie puts in halo.

    that was FREAKY! and i dont beleive in ghosts…they can kill some one with out looking at them thats HORIB-LY AWESOME! thats narey a good thing fighting one of those…i think there some kind of invincible hackers.i saw a hacker once in halo 1 he had black and blue recon.
    and he creamed people his name was juba.he wasent a ghost…i think ;) … but maybe he is! he could switch weapons out of thin air! he was bad man!he was BAD! we all tryed to kill him but we could wether we were the enemy team or ally…FREAKY RIGHT!

    yea, my friend and I where playing halo3 forge when a third monitor poped up and shot a beam and killed my friend. I then and stuck the monitor many times but it did not die, finally I hoped into a scorpian and shot it . it blew up and never apperd ever again. it was creepy. It was the same exact amor as me. (P.S. I have Hayabuisa amor.)

    Well, I am dressing up as a nerd. Yes, I have encoutered one while playing halo 3 with odstL70. It was unstopable! Everybody on the map was shooting him,but he would not go down. Soon,he just disappeared.
