Fan Expo 2012 recap – Proudly Canadian!

This year we had the opportunity to make our first appearance at Fan Expo – and it was AWESOME!

This year marked our debut at Fan Expo Toronto with our own booth – and we could not be happier with the results. As a Canadian company we were super excited to be at Fan Expo to give our Canadian fans a chance to immerse themselves in some of our most popular brands and offer them exclusive giveaways and fun contests!

For the fist time in Canada fans were treated to an in depth look at the making of our Mega Bloks World of Warcraft toys, a sneak peak at our first Halo Signature series build – the Forward Unto Dawn, and a VIP screening of the Mega Bloks Halo 4 Toymation!

Building Tables and the #PowerRangersMegaMural

This year we put together a very special booth that was dedicated to the fans and building enthusiasts alike. We invited attendees to “come build with us!” – we had several building tables around the booth filled with blocks where fans let their imaginations run wild and the best part was – whatever they made they got to keep!

With the success of the #PowerRangersMegaMural at San Diego Comic Con we decided to bring the ultimate building experience to Fan Expo. Listed as an official attraction by Fan Expo Canada we invited fans to come by the booth, add a block or two, and help us build the POWER RANGERS MEGA MURAL.

Not only was this wall a way for fans to engage, meet the Mega Bloks community team, and learn about our toys – it was built with a goal – to help raise awareness for Autism Speaks. This is a cause we have been very dedicated towards for a few years now, in fact this year at the Autism Speaks Walk in Montreal we helped raise $60,000.

After the wall was completed we donated it to the Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital, a local Toronto charity that provides support to children with disabilities. To celebrate the the occasion we unveiled the mural at the hospital and brought some of the Power Rangers along to visit with the kids.

Mega Bloks Halo Trivia Meetup at EB Games

We also held a Mega Bloks Halo Trivia Meet at EB Games where fans had the opportunity to meet the Mega Bloks community team, win some prizes, and get a VIP screening of our latest Halo Toymation – Assault on Squad 45 part 4.

To keep in the spirit of the meetup – the following day at our booth we had a special guest appearance from the “official” Master Chief!

100′s of peopled lined up in advance for an opportunity to have their pic taken with Master Chief and WIN some Halo sets!

We had a busy week but it was totally worth it! We met tons of fans and made new friends!
